Your Son Needs a Drug Class

Your back is flaring up again. You head to the medicine cabinet and pull out your Vicodin (which of course you only use when your cotton-picken’ back goes out. Your bottle is almost empty. You could have sworn you had just refilled the prescription last time you had needed your medication. There should be almost 30 pills in the bottle.

You know you’re not crazy. You ask your wife if she had to take any of your pain medication. She says no. There is only one other person living in the house – your son. What do you do? How do you handle this situation?

Intervention and quick response are key. First, if you are reasonably certain it is your son you can either confront him first, or catch him in the act (count the pills and when one goes missing confront).

Prescription drug abuse is as bad as any other – marijuana, cocaine or alcohol. You need to take immediate steps. A good drug class is a place to start. Perhaps an online drug class you can take together.

The key is to address the situation right away. Arm both yourself and your son with information on the dangers of drug abuse. You take the drug class and have him take the Minor in Possession Class!

Hope for alcoholics

Why do alcoholics drink to excess, rather than stopping at a tolerable limit like other people do? Their disease effects them on two different levels, both physically and mentally. The physical aspects which alcoholics face are not clear, though studies have shown that their brain chemistry has been altered by their abuse of the substance. For example, not only can alcoholics handle much larger amounts of the drink, they have a physical need for it as well. Without regular doses, alcoholics will begin to display withdrawal symptoms, which can be quite severe. This is one reason kicking the habit poses such a difficult challenge. Other physical issues which alcoholics face are brought on by their drinking itself. Alcohol is actually a mycotoxin which the body has to work hard to remove, and the constant bombardment takes a toll over time. Many times alcoholics face liver failure, though alcohol damages every organ, even the brain.

Don’t give up, there really is hope for alcoholics.

Quitting drinking on your Own

Most people (by which one means almost all people) after such a solemn personal pledge taken, somehow still find it possible to get right back to where these folks were within a matter of hrs or days. That they find themselves in the club again, eyes just about all bloodshot, all the empties arrayed around them. Why on earth does quitting having on your own not operate? How hard will it be to just understand the a couple of simple words that make up the oath Never Again? And it isn’t just drinking either. Instead of drinking, they could invest daydreaming, smoking, drugs, lying, infidelity or even anything you else. It is just a very important and ever-prevalent area of the addict. Basically, it’s very hard quitting ingesting on your own because your mind plays tricks you. You think one thing if you are sober and without even knowing it, you think the complete opposite when you’re consumed. Worse of all, the two can seem exactly like you from different times.
