Yoga Exercise To Relieve Lower Back Pain
In these present times, yoga is believed to be a helpful exercise on relieving lower back pain. Yoga is not only a discipline for the physical aspect, but also for the mental and spiritual. This kind of exercise originated in India. Yoga is an exercise that helps the strengthening and flexibility of the muscle of the body. Although, this exercise is not as intense like others, it is proven that it can relieve lower back pain.
Bala- Asana (Child Posture) – This is one of the easiest positions in yoga to help relieve lower back pain. To start off, sit on your knees while your feet are together and your buttocks are resting on your heels. Separate your knees, which are about the hips’ width. Then, bend forward until your forehead touches the yoga mat. Place your hands behind you, next to your feet. Take a deep breath and keep the posture for about 5- 10 seconds. Do this repeatedly for 5- 7 times.
Titali- Asana (Butterfly Posture) – Sit straight with your legs extended forward. Bend then your knees as to sole drawn together in the crotch area. The thighs must be parallel to the floor. Have your folded knees pressed downwards with both hands without your heels rising. Then, bend your body and put your elbows on your thighs. Take a deep breath and press down your thighs. Allow them to come up upon exhaling. This can be done within 20-30 times.
Sarp-Asana (Snake Posture) – Lie flat on your tummy, and you’re your hands behind your back. Your feet should be kept together as the soles are flat on the floor and your heels are pointed upwards. Breathe in and raise your neck, chest, and legs while having your weight balanced. Do not lose the position when breathing. About ten to fifteen rolls will do.
